The 76th Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association Regatta wrapped up today in St. Catharines. It’s a massive competition for high school rowers from across the continent.

Yesterday, some of the races were cancelled due to windy conditions, and although it was a sunny day today, it was a little bit windy again, which made rowing a challenge.

That didn’t stop the students from coming out and doing what they have been preparing all year for.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of the national high school championships in 2020 and 2021.

There were 42 races today in a wide range of rowing events, including singles, doubles, and groups of 4 and 8, all over a 2,000-meter distance.

The event is held on the Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course with races ending at the Craig Swayze Memorial Grandstand.
