Niagara police urge enhanced security on some model cars after thefts

Niagara police are urging the public to consider aftermarket security measures for Lexus and Toyota brand cars after a string of thefts.

Late last month, detectives responded to four early-morning complaints about a car theft suspect in the Fonthill and Pelham areas.

Local police say over the last couple of weeks there have been seven calls for service regarding car thefts and attempted car thefts.

Officers warn that newer model Lexus SUV’s and Toyota’s (Tundra, Highlander, and Land Cruiser) are being targeted by criminal networks.

Detectives are asking anyone who may recognize the person in the photo to contact them at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1023300.
