Niagara police search for driver after cyclist struck in St. Catharines hit-and-run

Police are searching for a vehicle and driver after a cyclist was struck in a hit-and-run Saturday evening in St. Catharines.

Investigators say a white Mercedes collided with a man riding a bike in the area of Dunkirk and Service roads at around 8:30 p.m.

The Mercedes then fled the area westbound on Dunkirk Road. Officers add that the vehicle may have front end damage and damage to the passenger side mirror.

Following the incident, the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives are attempting to identify the involved vehicle and driver.
