Niagara police search for 70-year-old Welland man missing for 12 days

Update: missing person Werner Hoefel has been located and is safe.
Niagara Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue their search for a 70-year-old man missing from Welland.
Police say Werner Hoefel has been missing for 12 days.
Hoefel was last sighted on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. in the area of Lincoln St. and Denistoun St. in Welland. Police have reason to believe that he is in the Toronto area.
Hoeful is described as a white man, six-feet-tall, 190 pounds, with grey hair and a grey beard. He is usually seen wearing a baseball hat.
Both the police and Hoefel’s family are concerned for his wellbeing.
