Niagara police investigating after child struck and killed in Lincoln
Niagara police are investigating after a child was struck and killed in Lincoln on Monday.
Officers were called to the scene on Green Lane Rd., between Bartlett Rd. and Garden Gate Terrace in Beamsville, around 4:15 p.m.
A four-year-old boy was found in critical condition. He was taken to local hospital but died of his injuries.
Police say the boy was sledding when his sled went into the road and he was struck by a passing pickup truck.

Meanwhile, the Town of Lincoln will be lowering flags at all its facilities to half-mast.
“Please take a moment to honour this young child by lighting a candle or saying a prayer for family, friends and everyone who has been affected by this tragic accident,” said Mayor Sandra Easton in a statement.
