Niagara officials say good year for tourism

The summer tourist season is over, and the Niagara tourist industry’s assessment is that it’s been a pretty good year so far.

Hotels have been seeing more visitors from Ontario and Europe. In fact, business was up more than 10 percent from July through September at some locations. Even though they say that Americans tend to stay home in an election year, hotel operators say they benefited from the so-called “Wallenda Effect.”
