The Niagara IceDogs announced the hiring of Frank Evola Monday as the franchise’s sixth General Manager after a leadership change-up in May.

Evola will be taking over the position from Wes Consorti, who was holding onto the role until a replacement was appointed.

Consorti acted the team’s interim general manager after the team changed several leadership positions, following an Ontario Hockey League-led review.

Evola joins the IceDogs after nine years as the Director of Scouting and Hockey Operations with the Windsor Spitfires.

Before that, Evola spent nine seasons working with the Oshawa Generals organization, two years as a Director of Scouting and seven years as a Western Ontario scout.

“I’d like to thank John and Stephen Savage, Brian Schwab, and Bill Bowler for their unwavering trust in me throughout my time in Windsor,” said Evola in a media release from the Niagara IceDogs. “I wish them the absolute best in the future.”

The release further reads that the IceDogs are excited to welcome Evola to the organization, and look forward to the future under his leadership.
