Niagara Falls man charged after fatal hit and run

A local man has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run collision in Niagara Falls on Saturday.

Police say they were called to the area of Lundy’s Lane and Beaverdams Road after a report of a collision.

Officers found a woman who was badly injured after being struck by a car.

She was transported to an out of town hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators located the 2013 black Mercedes involved in the incident.

Police arrested 23-year-old John Alexander Gawronski on Sunday.

He’s been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and failure to stop at the scene of a fatal accident.
