NFL players, fans pay tribute to Damar Hamlin after steady recovery

Bills’ Damar Hamlin is making significant progress as he watched the Bills host New England on Sunday from his hospital bed in Cincinnati.
Damar Hamlin posted a picture of himself alongside his parents putting up a heart sign.
The Buffalo Bills took the field on Sunday for Hamlin as teammates carried custom flags that asked people to “Pray for Damar.”
The league also honored Hamlin in several ways this weekend, dedicating all the games to him and acknowledging first responders and health-care workers who helped him recover.
After the victory, Hamlin tweeted a fundraiser for first-responders and the UC Trauma Center.

Buffalo defensive back Hamlin was in critical condition last week after the Bills said his heart stopped after a tackle during a pivotal game between the Bills and Bengals.
The game suddenly became irrelevant and officials postponed the game as the primary concern for players, coaches and fans became Hamlin’s health.
The NFL announced Wednesday that week 18 was still on schedule, and physicians treating Hamlin said he has shown “remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours,” on Thursday.
