New Year’s Eve Preparations in Niagara Falls

With just over 24 hours until the big party, crews are busy setting up one of the biggest New Year’s Eve celebrations in Canada.
While other big parties in Ontario are scaling back because of the frigid temperatures, the bash in Niagara Falls is going ahead as planned.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to brave the cold.
About 20 crew members were working to set up for tomorrow night’s party.
Workers building the stages for tomorrow night’s concert have trailers to warm up in and lots of coffee to heat their insides.
Niagara Parks officials say those who are coming down should take extra precautions because of the cold.
While shows in other cities are cancelled because of the bitter temperatures, organizers in Niagara say that’s not necessary.
There will be two buses so that people can take a break from the cold. Niagara Falls also has no shortage of shops and restaurants to warm up in.
Marianas Trench and Simple Plan are headlining the event, but the falls in all their glory are the main attraction.
Some visitors enjoying Niagara Falls say the show must go on despite the cold, while others have warmer plans.
The show kicks off tomorrow night at 8 p.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m. and 12 a.m.
