Construction has started on the new $46 million headquarters for the Niagara Regional Police Service.
It’s being built at Valley Way and Portage Road in Niagara Falls and will include the new Niagara Falls detachment. These are some renderings of what the facility will look like when it’s completed. The new building is 210-thousand square feet, and will house around 680 police service and civilian staff.
Henry D’Angela is the Chair of the Niagara Regional Police Services Board: “This is a great day for the Niagara Regional Police Service. A great day for the Niagara Region and for the citizens of Niagara. It marks a very special and historic event in the history of the Niagara Regional Police Service. Beginning of the construction of a new headquarters and district two facility. The defining moment in our accommodation plan. It took a lot of hard work to get here by a lot of people. A today we take another step toward the creation of a new police headquarters that will have transformative effects on the operation of the NRPS.”
Construction is expected to be finished by December 2015.
