A new Canadian takes to the skies
A new Canadian takes his national pride to the sky.
After receiving his citizenship, Fort Erie resident John Wallace, celebrated by putting on an aerial display of patriotism.
The 61-year-old celebrated with a skydive carrying his country’s flag.
The Pennsylvania native created the Geronimo sky-diving team in the United States, and brought that passion across the border when he moved to Fort Erie 5 years ago.
Wallace has jumped out airplanes with the Canadian flag parachute around 100 times, but he says doing it for the first time as a Canadian citizen was a whole new feeling for him, and says the five year wait was more than worth it.
