NDP leader reacts to 2024 federal budget

Still trending here in Canada is the federal budget after it was tabled by the Liberals in the House of Commons on Thursday.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is accusing the Conservatives of siding with multi-millionaires and standing against fairness, after the Tories said they won’t support the proposed budget.

In it, the Liberals included a promise to make corporations and rich individuals pay more tax on capital gains.

A number of economists say this budget targets the cost of living, something extremely important for many Canadians right now.
