During the holy month, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk abstaining from food, water and other temptations.

The celebration is intended to draw worshipers closer to god through self-control and remembrance. It’s also about spending time with family.

The Hamilton mountain mosque opened its doors today to give non Muslims a chance to explore and engage with the Muslim community.

Every evening during Ramadan about three hundred Muslims visit the mosque to participate in the “Break the Fast Program” to show solidarity.
