Have a Little Faith in Me‘ is the new single from Juno winning singer-songwriter Johnny Reid. It’s the first song of his new album ‘Love Someone‘.

Johnny joined us this morning with more on the album and a long awaited tour.

“We’ve been waiting a long time,” said Reid. “So it’s going to be exciting once we get some confirmation that we’ll be able to take this music across the country.”

Most of ‘Love Someone’ was written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. Some of the songs, Reid said, have been in his back pocket for years. He just didn’t have the right project to include them on, until now.

“This entire album is more introspective than what I have released in the past,” said Reid. With the pandemic and everything the world has gone through, we had no choice but to look a little deeper [when writing].”

Reid said he has built his career on being himself and that ‘Love Someone’ is about looking at your life differently as you get older.

The musician said he enjoys playing the big shows in front of big crowds, but when he asked people on social media where they would like to see a live performance, a lot of them opted for smaller venues.

“So, [In this upcoming tour]  we’re going to be going places that we’ve never played before,” said Reid. “This tour and this album gives us the chance to be a tiny bit more personal…it’s going to be very special for me and I hope it’s going to be special for everyone else too.”

Reid has also been working on a musical about his Granny titled Maggie. On Nov. 4, at Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius, Reid is having an event focusing on conversation with the creators and cast of the musical.

“This has been several years in the making,” said Reid. “I was always trying to figure out a way I could immortalize my Granny and I thought the best way is to create a musical.”

Tickets are available now for “Maggie: In Conversation” here.
