Multiple-alarm fire in 2 Hamilton Mountain homes causes $600K in damage

A multiple-alarm fire in two houses on the west Hamilton Mountain Monday afternoon has caused nearly $600,000 in damage.
The Hamilton Fire Department initially tweeted at 1:30 p.m. that crews responded to a vehicle fire on Cloverhill Rd. between Gateview Dr. and Brantdale Ave.
Within 10 minutes, firefighters upgraded the blaze to a multiple-alarm structure fire as it spread from the motorcycle in the driveway to both houses located at 39 and 43 Cloverhill Rd.

“House #39 sustained extensive fire damage both on the exterior and interior at the rear of the home,” said Fire Chief Dave Cunliffe.
“The fire also consumed a deck, fence and motorcycle at this residence. House #43 sustained significant fire damage to the rear of the home that included a vehicle in the driveway and wooden fence.”
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Investigators believe the fire was caused by “improper disposal of smokers material.”
