Mounties cleared in G20 probe

The watchdog that keeps an eye on the RCMP has deemed the national police service acted in a “reasonable and appropriate” fashion during the 2010 G20 summit in Toronto.

The Commission for Public Complaints also found RCMP planning was thorough and the placement security fencing was justifiable. However, the commission does recommend better co-ordination between the Mounties and other forces at future events.

It also recommends the RCMP improves its note-taking and record-keeping.
