Based on the popular kids book series by James Patterson, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life is directed by Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall Cop). The film stars Griffin Gluck, Lauren Graham, Rob Riggle, Thomas Barbusca, Andy Daly, Adam Pally, and Retta.

Rafe’s epic imagination and slight problem with authority collide when he transfers to a rule-crazy middle school. Rafe and Leo, his scheming best friend, hatch a creative plan to break every rule in the school’s Code of Conduct. What they don’t expect is for Principal Dwight to strike back, causing chaos both real and imagined.

“When I got the opportunity to direct this film, I also got the opportunity to cast,” says Carr, “which was unusual for me, because I’ve been attached to a lot of star-driven material—whether it was Eddie Murphy or Kevin James—so a lot of casting decisions were already decided. This was my first real chance to go find the actors that I love and cherry pick some people that I felt were perfect for the roles.”

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life is rated PG.
