Mexican police detain Hamilton man wanted for 2017 Musitano, Barberi murders

Hamilton police have confirmed that Ancaster native Daniel Tomassetti is in the custody of Mexican police.

Tomassetti is wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of Hamilton mobster Angelo Musitano in Waterdown and Mila Barberi in Vaughan.

Investigators have said Barberi was shot and killed as she stood by her vehicle in a parking lot in Vaughan on March 14, 2017. Her boyfriend was also shot and survived.

Barberi’s murder was connected to Musitano, who was shot and killed as he arrived home in Waterdown in his pick-up truck on May 2, 2017.

Tomassetti is reportedly facing multiple charges, including murder.

Efforts to extradite Tomassetti back to Canada are now currently underway.
