McMurray Street Bridge closed for a month starting today

McMurray Street Bridge, between Hatt and Hope Streets, will close to all motor vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic starting today for around a month.

The city of Hamilton says August 15 is the anticipated completion date for the first phase of a two-year rehabilitation project of the bridge.

The bridge will close again to all traffic sometime next summer for the second phase of work.

Crews have to work underneath the bridge in Spencer Creek and Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans permits only a small window of time each year.
