Ontario’s fire marshal is sounding the alarm after the province reported 51 fire fatalities so far this year, up 65% with 17 people killed in March alone. Though not related, the troubling numbers are occurring at the same time as more people are calling into fire stations wondering if it’s safe to microwave their reusable surgical masks.
