Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner carjacked in Toronto

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was the victim of an armed carjacking Monday night.
The Maple Leafs confirmed the news in a statement Tuesday morning.
We can confirm Mitch Marner was the unfortunate victim of a carjacking in Etobicoke on Monday evening. He was unharmed in the incident and the Club & Mitch are thankful for Toronto Police Services’ support. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to Toronto Police Services.

Toronto police say around 7:46 p.m. on Monday, Marner was robbed of his black Range Rover in the area of The Queensway and Islington Avenue.

Police say there were three suspects responsible for the carjacking. It says two of them had handguns while one had a knife.
The suspects fled the area in the car and police are continuing to search for them.
This incident comes two days after the Maple Leafs were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a Game 7 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning in an Eastern Conference quarterfinal.
