Niagara police say the man wanted in a bank robbery in St. Catharines could have red dye on his body or clothing.
Officers were called to the TD Canada Trust on Scott St. around 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
They say a man walked into the bank and threatened to hurt an employee unless he was given money. The man ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say when the suspect left the bank, an anti-robbery red dye pack that was put in with the money exploded. The empty dye pack was found near the building.
No one was physically injured in the robbery.
Police have released a security image of the man, said to be between 20 and 30 years old and 5’7″.
Anyone with red dye on themselves or trying to use red-stained money should be reported to the police.
