Man killed in industrial accident at National Steel Car

A man has been killed in an industrial accident at rail car manufacturer National Steel Car in Hamilton.
Police responded to a workplace accident at the Kenilworth Ave. site around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
They say a man was struck by a large metal item he was working on.
The 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends and colleagues have identified the man as crane operator Fraser Cowan of Hamilton.
Police have concluded their investigation, noting the incident was not criminal in nature.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
National Steel Car says it is shutting down the plant Thursday and Friday.
