Man in his 30s hospitalized after random St. Catharines stabbing, police say

A man in his 30s is in hospital after a stabbing in St. Catharines that police say was a random act of violence.
On Sunday at approximately 4:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Queenston Street and Niagara Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives have determined the man was sleeping outdoors after leaving a nearby business when he was struck in the head and stabbed multiple times.
The man believed to be responsible for the stabbing is described as white, five-foot-eight tall, in his 30s and has a short beard.
At this time, officers believe this was an isolated random act of violence.
