Man in his 20s in hospital following Stoney Creek shooting

A man in his 20s is in hospital following an early morning shooting in Stoney Creek.

Police were called to the area of King St. West and Lake Ave. Dr. around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Officers discovered the man with a gunshot wound to the foot.

Investigators say the man was inside a home in the area moments before the shooting. When he left building, he became involved in an altercation with “unknown parties.”

Police believe the incident was targeted and investigators say the victim is not cooperating with police.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating the shooting.

Police are asking residents in the area to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.
