Man in custody following deadly church shooting in B.C.

A 25-year-old man is in custody following a deadly shooting at a church in Salmon Arm, B.C.
The shooting happened during an event at the Church of Christ in the community about 100 kilometres north of Kelowna.
Investigators do not believe it was religiously motivated.
Salmon Arm RCMP says a man walked into the church around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and shot two parishioners.
Several other people inside the church wrestled the alleged shooter to the ground.
Police say one person died at the scene while another was taken to hospital in stable condition.
It’s believed the alleged shooter knew at least one of the victims.
Police say charges are pending and there is no reason to believe there is a risk to public safety.
