Man hit by train in St. Catharines

A man is in hospital after being hit by a train in St. Catharines Sunday night. First responders were called to the Via station around 10 pm where staff guided them to the scene near Glenridge Avenue and Rivercrest Drive. CHCH news was told the victim lost a leg in the incident.  He was taken by paramedics to the St. Catharines General Hospital, then airlifted to the Hamilton trauma centre.  Police are looking into what led up to the incident.
