(Update)

A cement truck driver has been airlifted to hospital after being pinned underneath his truck at a construction site in Oakville.

Police were called to a construction site on the north side of Dundas Street near Sixth Line in Oakville just after the noon hour on Monday. A cement truck tipped on its side and slid down a small embankment, trapping the driver, a 34-year old man from Guelph, for about three hours. Transfusions had to be run from Oakville Trafalgar Hospital to the scene. Fire crews finally pulled him out just before 3 o’clock, and he was then airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital.  The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
