Man crashes car through 3 properties in Burlington

A man is lucky to be alive after he crashed through three properties along Plains Road in Burlington earlier this afternoon. Phil Perkins spoke with some of the shocked residents.

Halton police say a 67-year old man heading West on Plains Road in Burlington just after 3 o’clock went unconscious after experiencing a diabetic-related episode. His car then transformed into a battering ram leaving a trail of destruction.

Luckily, the first person to the crash site was an off-duty police officer. The driver sustained serious injuries and will be okay.

Despite the structural damage to the homes, residents will be allowed back inside. There’s no word on the dollar amount of the damage.

What might also need fixing is the speed limit along plains road. it’s currently 60 kilometres an hour, but residents are afraid that cars are travelling way too fast.
