Man charged, woman wanted after Niagara police seize $200K in drugs

A man is facing charges and a woman is wanted after Niagara police seized more than $200,000 in illegal drugs.

Officers say the pair was walking on Culp Street in Niagara Falls Thursday when they recognized the man as having an active arrest warrant.

Police arrested the man and recovered fentanyl, hydromorphone, oxycodone and a room key for a motel in the city.

Detectives then executed a search warrant at the motel room and seized a firearm, $400 in counterfeit Canadian currency, as well as fentanyl, oxycodone pills, hydromorphone pills, and fentanyl patches worth $201,750 in total.

Richard Thomas Caissie, 34, is facing 10 charges, including possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and drug trafficking-related offences.

Investigators continue to search for Jasmine Marie Scarbro, 26, of St. Catharines. She is wanted for seven firearm and drug trafficking-related charges.
