RICHMOND HILL — York regional police say a 30-year-old man has been charged in two sexual assaults on youth victims that occurred days apart in Richmond Hill.

Police say the first incident was on Aug. 12, when the man approached a female victim on a hiking trail, covered her mouth and sexually assaulted her.

They allege the man assaulted another female victim in the same manner on Aug. 14.

Both victims broke free and fled.

The man has been charged with sexual interference, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon and obstructing justice.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
