A robbery of an electric scooter in Welland led to the arrests of four people by Niagara police, including the person whose scooter was stolen.
On Monday, Nov. 25 police received a call about a scooter being stolen from a man.
Three suspects fled the scene of the robbery in a black Jeep Wrangler and a bystander and the complainant followed the vehicle.
Officers were able to stop the Jeep and arrest the three suspects, and a search recovered the stolen electric scooter and weapons used in the theft.
Natasha Leigh Seguin, 34 years, of no fixed address was charged with robbery and failing comply with probation.
Simran Singh, a 32-year-old woman from Welland, and Mohd Farooqi, 37, of Brampton were charged with robbery.
Complainant arrested
Further investigation into the robbery revealed that the complainant, Justin Daniel Roesler, had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to comply with a probation order with the Niagara police.
When arrested he was found to be in possession of 13 g of suspected fentanyl and a canister of bear repellant spray.
Detectives later seized 41.8 g of suspected fentanyl, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a homemade ‘stun gun’. The estimated street value of seized fentanyl is $11,000.
Roesler, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with a number of criminal offences, including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
