Man arrested after 20 windows smashed at Hamilton business
A man has been arrested after 20 windows were smashed at a business in downtown Hamilton Thursday night.
Officers were called to the area of James St. South and Hunter St. East for reports of a male breaking several windows with a pole.
Police say the male had left the scene before they arrived and was reportedly walking northbound on James St.
A 30-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested a short time later at a local business. He has been charged with mischief and is scheduled to appear in court later Friday.
Police say the replacement of windows and cleanup costs are expected to be more than $5,000.
