Man, 25, charged after fatal stabbing in downtown Hamilton

A 25-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a stabbing Monday morning in downtown Hamilton.

Police arrived around 8:30 a.m. to the area of Park Street North and York Boulevard, where they found a 52-year-old Hamilton man suffering from stab wounds.

He later died of his injuries in hospital.

Witnesses told investigators that the white male suspect in dark clothing was seen running through Jackson Square.

Hamilton Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of an adult male.

The male was located near Park St.N and York Blvd. in #HamOnt.

Nearly two hours later, officers arrested Nathan Kanis-Lynch. Police charged him Tuesday with second-degree murder.

Homicide detectives are asking businesses and residents in the area to review their surveillance footage around the time of the incident.
