Body found after car plummets into Lake Ontario, man charged

UPDATE: 22 year old Aaron Dobbs of Welland has been charged with impaired driving causing death and refuse to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court November 6th for a bail hearing.
The body pulled from the water has been identified as a 27 year old male from Mississauga, his name has not been released at the request of the family.
Halton police say they have recovered a body from Lake Ontario after a vehicle plummeted into the water in Oakville early Monday.
Police were called to a residential neighbourhood near Maple Grove Dr. and Lakeshore Rd. East around 3 a.m. for reports of “a person knocking on doors.”
Officers found a man who appeared to be soaking wet and later discovered a car inside Lake Ontario at the dead end of Maple Grove Dr.
Police say the vehicle broke through the barriers at end of the roadway, smashed into a bench and ended up in the water.
A 22-year-old man was charged with impaired driver and refuse to provide breath sample.
Halton police along with Oakville Fire continued to search the water for any additional occupants of the vehicle. Shortly after 12 p.m., Halton police said in a post on Twitter that a body was recovered from the shore of Lake Ontario.
