Gabe Crimeli, an 11-year-old boy from Burlington had his Make-A-Wish granted on Friday.

Crimeli was surprised with a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Gabe originally had his Disney wish granted two years ago, but COVID-19 got in the way, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation had to cancel international travel wishes.

Gabe was diagnosed with leukemia when he was only 6 years old, but at that age, all he knew is that was really sick.

“I just knew that I had to go to the hospital because I wasn’t feeling good. Then next thing you know, I was in a hospital room not knowing what was going on,” Gabe said.

This is the first time the charity has been able to grant a wish since the pandemic started and there is a waitlist of over 700 kids waiting to get their special wish to go to Walt Disney World.
