What started as a small basement business has just sold for $12million Canadian.
“We’re all moms and we all had small children who were going to daycare and play dates and that sort of thing and we just found that we kept leaving items behind or didn’t know what sippy cup belonged to which child.” Says co-founder of Mabel’s Labels Julie Cole.
That thought 13 years ago brought Mabel’s Labels to life. Since then Mabel’s Labels moved out of the basement and into a 14 000 square foot facility to handle their growing demand.
Now the four moms who got it all started will be reporting to Avery, a segment of a Canadian company, CLL industries that deals in office supplies and related products.
“We’ve been tracking Mabel’s Labels for several years. They have such a huge value proposition when it comes to idenitfying kids belongings.” Says Allison Phillips from Avery.
This little Hamilton labeling company has done so well that its fiscal year end sales are forecasted to reach $9.5 million, and now that Avery’s on board, theres no telling how far it can go.
