He spent nearly two decades as the tap-dancing salesman on Mr. Rogers’s neighbourhood, appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, and brushed shoulders with the likes of Sammy Davis Junior and Frank Sinatra.

As the movie about Mr. Rogers, “A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood” opens in theatres tonight, Diana Weeks sat down with the legend himself, who lives right here in Hamilton.
