Dozens of people helped to unveil a newly renovated park in north Hamilton today.

The playground got a major facelift thanks to volunteers, community members and hometown hockey hero, Ryan Ellis of the Nashville Predators.
Ellis donated a $35,000 jungle gym through his Elly4Kids Foundation.

The park is located on Wentworth Street North and features freshly painted murals, an upgraded garden and new seating.

Plans to renovate the park first started in 2004.

About 75 volunteers worked together throughout the weekend to put the final touches on the park in time for today’s big event.
