Little library finds new home in Hamilton

The Rotary Club of Hamilton has partnered with the City of Hamilton to secure a new home for a little library.

This week, the library will be removed from its current location at Cathy Wever Elementary School and will undergo renovations before its re-opening on Sept. 8, the first day of school.

The Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library will be near the main entrance of the Pinky Lewis Recreation Centre, located beside the school.

“We been overwhelmed by the support of Rotarians, neighbours, community members, businesses and organizations who reached out to offer assistance … donate books and, most importantly, express their support for the Little Library and its mission,” reads a statement from the Rotary Club of Hamilton.

The little library honours the late Christopher Cutler, a former advisor to ex-Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger.

Cutler was president of the Rotary Club of Hamilton in 2013.

The Rotary Club is planning a Community Literacy Festival and official launch of the little library on Oct. 1.
