Liberals hope to fast-track tanning bed law

The Ontario government is hoping to fast-track tanning bed legislation next week.

If passed, the Skin Cancer Prevention Act, or Bill 30, would ban those under 18-years old from using tanning beds.

The Liberals blame the opposition for taking too much time debating other bills, and not allowing the tanning bed legislation to move forward, but opposition parties say the liberals didn’t make the ban a priority, and allowed the issue to remain on the back-burner.

The liberals plan to move ahead with a motion next Wednesday, to quickly pass the bill into law by the end of this month.
