Legendary singer and actor Meat Loaf dies at 74

Rock superstar Meat Loaf has died at the age of 74.

The singer was best known for his 1977 album “Bat out of Hell” which is one of the best-selling records of all time.

A statement on his Facebook page says Meat Loaf died Thursday night surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda, and close friends.

“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight,” the statement said on Facebook. “We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking.”

Meat Loaf, whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday, was born in Dallas, Texas.

His amazing career spanned over six decades and included numerous hit singles like “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”, “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad”, and “I’d do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”

Meat Loaf also appeared in over 65 movies including “Fight Club”, “Focus”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Wayne’s World.”

No cause or other details were given, but Aday had numerous health scares over the years.
