A lawyer who helped put Burlington teacher Neil Bantleman in prison in Indonesia is being accused of corruption.

OC Kaligis was detained by the country’s anti-corruption commission last week for alleged bribery in another case. Indonesia’s supreme court and judicial commission have now been asked to look over Kaligis’ previous cases.

Neil Bantleman has been in jail since he was charged last July with sexual abuse of three children at a school he worked at in Jakarta.

The 46 year old started serving a ten year sentence in April after a court found him guilty. His lawyers have appealed the conviction; the outcome may come down as early as the end of this month.
