The park will be larger in scale than neighourhood parks in the area and include various amenities, including a splash pad, multi-use courts, a skatepark, cycling, water features, public art, gardens, picnic shelters, landmark monuments, nature celebrations, bird watching and a venue to host celebrations and activities such as movie nights in the park.

Seasonal activities have also been integrated into the park’s design with a toboggan hill planned for winter use.

The first phase of a new dog park is scheduled to be completed in the next two weeks.

The remaining construction will begin following a four-stage archaeological review of the land alongside field monitors representing the Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississauga’s of the Credit First Nation.

The City of Brantford says that construction is expected to begin in April 2024 and wrap by the end of next year.
