(Update)
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Lancaster Bomber has completed its journey from Hamilton to England.

It arrived today with much fanfare. Now that the Lancaster Bomber is safely on the ground, it will begin its tours with the only other flying Lancaster in the world.

Morning Live’s Bob Cowan was on the final stage of the historic flight. He joins us from England to tell us all about the fanfare for the plane.

“It has been an amazing turnout. We hit the tarmac and we had no idea what a crowd we were going to be seeing, hundreds and hundreds of people in our flight path as we were coming in we were looking out the windows.”

“Cars lined up along the road waving Canadian flags, Canadian flags planted at houses as well and all ages and of course many veterans here as well. The only flying Lancasters in the world the one here in England and of course the other from the Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton finally together after 50 years. They are just feet apart right now.”

Bob will be back on Morning Live Monday morning — and we’re sure he’ll have lots of stories to share.
