Klarenbeek out of hospital

(Updated) The Peel police officer who was shot at the Brampton Courthouse last week has been released from hospital.

Constable Mike Klarenbeek was working security at the courthouse when a man walked in and opened fire. The 53 year old has been in hospital since March 28th, but doctors sent him home today to further recover from his injuries.

The Special Investigations Unit identified the man who shot Klarenbeek as Charnjit Singh Bassi, 45, of Brampton. He was killed by police at the scene.
