Kijiji advertisements lead to arrest in West Lincoln Break & Enter

Thirty-two year old 32 year old Joel Batchelor of Hamilton was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Commit theft and 32 year old David Watts of Hamilton was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.

On Tuesday March 1 members of the 8 District Detective Office finished an investigation in a Break and Enter that occurred in the Township of West Lincoln, along Concession Rd 5, after finding Kijiji advertisements of the stolen property.

Some of the items stolen included vintage collectibles and video games and a guitar collection valued by the property owner at $9200.

The owner described some of the items in detail including specific flaws which were discovered on the property posted on Kijiji.

The accused’s involvement in other  break and enters is still under investigation.

Residents of the Niagara Region are reminded to lock their vehicles and residences to deter potential thieves.
