Ireland House Museum hosts Burlington’s Applefest Fall Fair

Families gathered in Burlington at the Ireland House Museum on Sunday to celebrate the Applefest Fall Fair.
The fair offered lots of child-friendly activities to engage little minds, like painting, an apple scavenger hunt, and bucket drumming from CRASH Rhythm.
Tours of the historic Ireland House Museum were also available.
Miriam Martens from Museums of Burlington says the theme of the day was apples because of the Ireland family.
“Apples are really important because the second generation of Irelands were prolific apple farmers, they won national prizes for their apples, so we’re just celebrating the history of the area and the fact that where we are used to actually be filled with farms and apple orchards,” Martens said.
The event also had a main stage where there were family-friendly performances from the BarryO Kidshow and Wild Ontario.
