The chief of Brantford Police Service has launched an investigation after his tactical officers raided the wrong house in connection with a drug trafficking case.

Officers executed three search warrants as a part of Project Viking on Sept. 8.

However, police say one of the warrants was executed at an incorrect address.

“The Brantford Police Service acknowledges that this experience would have been unsettling for those impacted and have engaged Victim Services of Brant to ensure those affected receive the assistance they require,” police said in a media release.

At a correct address, officers seized over $600,000 in illegal drugs and charged Brandon Cooper, 34, of Brampton.
